it's crazy how after all these years, this film still resonates with me. so much in fact that i keep thinking my birthday is going to end up just like this scene...one of these days. ah well, a girl can hope.
my besties took me out to dinner, got me liquored up, traded some hearty laughs (they truly are some of the funniest people i've ever met), gave me big hugs, thoughtful gifts and made me remember that while i would typically be fine spending my birthday all by my lonesome watching sixteen candles and amelie, birthdays with loved ones are always amazing...and welcome.
so while there's no jake ryan or even johnny castle around to renact hungry eyes with, at least i know i can lip sync the moments with friends that understand.
